What Could Retreading Save You vs. Buying New?

How this is calculated

• The Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau (TRIB) states that a retreaded tire "sells for less — usually between 30 and 50 percent of the comparable new tire price." This tool applies that 30–50% band to the new-tire price you enter.
• Cost per retread = your new-tire price × 30% to 50%.
• Saving per tire = your new-tire price − the estimated retread cost (i.e. 50% to 70% of the new-tire price).
• Per month = saving per tire × the number of tires you enter. Per year = per month × 12.
• If you enter your own current retread cost, the second panel compares that figure directly to your new-tire price instead of the industry band.
• Non-CAD currencies are shown with fixed approximate rates (1 CAD ≈ 0.73 USD ≈ 0.67 EUR ≈ 0.57 GBP), for illustration only, as of September 2026. All figures in this calculator stay in the currency you pick — no conversion is applied to the savings math.
